MISCELLANEOUS:Afrika is one of the legends in Mixed Wrestling. And when you bring up a list of the strongest ladies to ever do Mixed Wrestling sessions she'd always be mentioned in that list. After some years of inactivity she's back and doing more wrestling sessions than every before and even producing her own videos. Let's find out more about her career in my Interview with Afrika.
#1. How did you get started in wrestling?
"I started wrestling in 1987 after the Women's Extravaganza in New Jersey, Where I won my Heavyweight class and overall in the show."
#2. Do you remember your first Mixed Wrestling session and how it went?
"The first guy I wrestled was actually for a video for Premier Productions in 1987. I wrestled a weakling about 6 feet and 180 lbs and totally crushed and mangled him."
#3. What are your most effective hold or holds that make your opponents say, "I give"?
"Scissors, Headlocks, Bearhugs, Boston Crabs."
#4.What are your do’s and don'ts of wrestling? I.E. let us know the types of wrestling you will and won't do.
"Do's - Give me a competitive match or just claim you want a fantasy match. Wrestling Types: Competitive, Semi Competitive, Collegeit, Arm Wrestling and Fantasy. Don't - Pull hair or Bite me."
#5. Because of your size you obviously are stonger than most of the men you wrestle. Have you always been strong even as a teenager? Or did you develop your strength as an adult?
"Yes, I have always been strong. I was a competitive Athlete in H.S. and College and Increased my strength as an Adult with Bodybuilding, Powerlifting and Military type training."
#6. Tell us how you got started doing Mixed Wrestling Videos.
"I was approached by a Video Company after winning a Bodybuilding Contest and also introduced to a couple of people who were in the business during the contest. They admired my size, shape and strength and thought I’d do well shooting wrestling videos. They were right!"
#7. What’s the favorite Mixed Wrestling Video you did and why?
"My Business man video, and my Computer Nerd Video, these are my favorite type of videos and some of my best work. I display my strength as well as power throughout these videos and just have a ball kicking butt."
#8. Have you ever injured an opponent during a session either by accident (Didn't know your own strength or the guy was stubborn and wouldn't submit and got injured) or on purpose (The guy pissed you off to the point where you wanted to teach him a lesson)?
"I have broken and dislocated shoulders and arms while wrestling and not understanding my own strength. Other times my opponent was trying to be tough and not giving until it’s too late. Oops another one down! LOL During a session a guy wanted to get crushed ribs and choke out headlocks so I gave them to him. So be careful what you ask for when you wrestle me. I don't really like to hurt my opponent, just give him unforgettable PAIN."
#9. Do you prefer sessions where the guy just lets you put him in holds and he tries to resist or do you prefer sessions where actually puts up a fight and tries to beat you?
"Basically I’d say put up a fight if you say you want a competitive match or if you want a semi-comp or fantasy type match I’ll be nicer to you."
#10. What's something you’d like people to know about what it takes to be a Mixed Wrestler that they may not know?
"Strength and Endurance are key, and knowing how to judge your opponent. Size them up and truly intimidate them with your confidence in kicking their butt."
#11. What are your future plans?
"My future in Mixed Wrestling is to be the best and to dominate the Wrestling World with my Beauty, Power and Strength."
Finally, any last words you'd like to say to your fans?
"Yes, watch for my technique videos and photos showing my favorite Moves, Holds and Matches. And let's do a private session, I’m always up for the Challenge."
